Plainkit

Date calculator

Count the days between two dates, or find the date a number of days, weeks, months or years from now. Weekday counts are included.

How to use

  1. Choose Days between dates to count, or Add or subtract to find a new date.
  2. Pick the dates. Turn on Include the end date if both the first and last day should count, as for a hotel stay or a leave request.
  3. Read the total in days, weeks, months and weekdays.
  4. To go back in time, enter a negative number, such as −30.

Should I include the end date?

From 1 to 3 March is 2 days when you measure elapsed time, and 3 days when you count every calendar day you are away. Deadlines and ages usually exclude the end date. Event lengths, leave days and rental periods usually include it.

Adding months to the end of a month

Months have different lengths, so 31 January plus 1 month gives 28 February (or 29 in a leap year). The calculator moves to the last day of the shorter month instead of spilling into March.

Frequently asked questions

Are public holidays excluded from weekdays?

No. The weekday count removes Saturdays and Sundays only, because public holidays differ by country and region.

Does it handle leap years?

Yes. Dates are calculated on the Gregorian calendar, including 29 February in leap years.

Do time zones or daylight saving change the result?

No. The calculator works with whole calendar dates, so clock changes don’t add or remove days.

Can I link straight to the add/subtract mode?

Yes. Add #add to the end of the page address.
