Plainkit

Age calculator

Find exact age in years, months and days on any date, plus how many days someone has lived and how long until their next birthday.

How to use

  1. Enter the date of birth.
  2. Leave the second date as today, or change it to find age on another date, such as a deadline or an event.
  3. Read the age and the extra details below it.

How exact age is counted

Age goes up by one on each birthday. The months and days after the full years count from the most recent birthday. For example, someone born on 15 March 1990 is 36 years, 6 months and 21 days old on 6 October 2026.

Frequently asked questions

What about birthdays on 29 February?

In non-leap years this calculator treats 1 March as the birthday. This matches the UK and Japan; a few places use 28 February instead.

Can I work out someone’s age on a past or future date?

Yes. Change the second date. This is useful for age limits on forms, school entry dates and retirement planning.

Is my date of birth saved?

No. The calculation happens in your browser and nothing is sent or stored.
